Hiking

Dundas Valley

On May 7th, I went on my first hike of the Bruce Trail.  It was a beautiful day – lots of sun and temps in the 60’s.  The path is well groomed and fairly well marked (admittedly, I need some more work on reading those markings).  I stuck to the Main Loop Trail for the most part but did head off and did part of the McCormack Trail (that was where my marking interpretation failed me – thankfully, I did have my GPS!). The thing that struck me as soon as I got out of the car was the silence – it was incredible how quiet it was.  And it was beautiful.  Although I didn’t bring my camera on this trip, I did have my mobile and took some pics with it.  Next time I will bring the camera and be sure to get some good ones.  I think the most striking image was the moss growing on the rocks up the hill.  The total trip was roughly 5km on pretty hilly terrain so I am very happy with that for my first outing.
